The movers have been here for the last three days, and the truck pulled out tonight with all of our stuff. We close on the new house tomorrow morning, and the truck arrives to unload on Monday morning.
Nathan is holding up like a champ - he's been shuttled to different houses all week while the movers have been here. I'm sure it will catch up to us, but for now, he's doing well and is very excited about his new big boy room.
It's hard to see the house empty - it's our first house, the house we brought Nathan home to, and the last house my mom will see. It's so hard to imagine putting the new house together without here there to help...

Trip to St. Thomas
We just got back from a week in St. Thomas with Laura's dad and Aunt Emily. What a terrific trip! Nathan took to the Carribean like a champ - after the first day, he woke up every morning asking for sunblock and his hat and sunglasses. He loved the beach - building sandcastles and going back and forth to the water for buckets full of water. There was a slide at the pool which he went down over and over each day (with an adult, of course!) It was so much fun to see him having such a great time, and a great break for us during such a busy time!

Move update
We just got word that our closing date has been moved up to Friday, Feb 27 - so we'll be moving into our new house on Monday 3/2, and probably using the weekend in between to do a little painting (particularly converting Nathan's room from pink to blue!)

No more crib for Nathan!
Out of nowhere, Nathan boycotted his crib three nights ago. We were staying at the corporate apartment in NJ, so after far more crying than any of needed from him, we let him go to sleep in the queen-sized bed in his room up there. For two nights, we moved him back to his crib after he was asleep, afraid of his rolling out...but now that we see that this seems to be a permanent decision, I bought him a bed rail yesterday, and he slept so well last night - he didn't wake up until 9am!!!
When we get home tonight, we'll set up the futon in his room, and then we'll set him up with his twin "big boy bed" once we get moved into the new house - no sense in moving all the furniture around when we've only got a handful of nights left before the move.
I have been so nervous about this transition...should we try to do it before the move...should we do it when we move and just have one big transition...should we put him back in his crib in his new room, and then move him once he seems "ready"? And after all of the worrying, he did just what he's done with so many other things - he just made up his mind one day, and it was done!

Welcome to Ege Updates!
With our upcoming move to NJ and the pending arrival of Baby Ege #2, we decided it was time to have an Ege family blog, rather than just a Nathan blog. So...we're using Nathan's 2nd birthday as a good time to stop using his blog and start this new blog.
Here's where our crazy world stands for now...
MOVE:
Tues 2/24 - packers arrive
Thurs 2/26 - truck gets loaded
Mon 3/2 - we close on our new house in NJ
Tues 3/3 - truck gets unloaded in NJ!!!
Upon arrival of the truck, I will be 29 weeks pregnant with our second baby boy - due May 18, 2009.
What a fun, exciting, and busy time we have ahead of us!
