Meeting Great-Grandad
We took the boys to visit Dave's grandparents. Dave's grandfather will be 96 in January, and this was the first time he got to meet Alex, his sixth great-grandchild! What a proud great-grandad!

The rides at Wonderland
We took Nathan to Wonderland one afternoon for some time on the rides. We weren't sure how much he'd like them...but he loved them! He did some of the kiddie rides - Dumbo, the Firetrucks, the airplanes, etc. - and generally he preferred the ones Dave could ride on too. From there, we took him on the little kids roller coaster, the one that just goes around in a loop and up and down a little. He loved that, so Dave took him on the bigger roller coaster - more zipping around (but no loops or big drops!). And the grand finale was Dave taking him on the log flume!!! I thought Dave was crazy (and told him so) but Nathan LOVED it and begged to go again as soon as they got down! We'll see whether this love of rides lasts, but for now, Dave's going to be going on lots of rides with Nathan :-)

Ocean City
We spent the week in Ocean City with Dave's Dad, Donna, Peter, April and Emilia. Nathan LOVED the beach this year! Here come a few posts with highlight pictures...

A week of milestones!
We hit two great milestones with the boys this week...
Nathan has officially started to spit out words fast than we can count - after months of a word here and there, he's now coming out with 5 words or so a day and is getting so much more verbal! He also started stringing words together...the two biggies right now are "yes please" and yesterday he said "more bubbles please". He's also figuring out "me" and "you", and is very excited about opposites - up and down, on and off, open and close, and as of yesterday, in and out. It'll be great for all of us as he keeps talking more and more - we've all had some frustration waiting for him to be able to communicate more.
And...at 10 weeks old, Alex rolled front to back!!! It seems to be his way to avoid tummy time :-) For the last 3 days, everytime we put him on his tummy, he rolls himself over...

A visit with the Novos
Laura and the boys went up to the Berkshires to visit Laura's cousin Tina and her four kids. Tina's parents, Aunt Jeni & Uncle Gene were there, and we had a great time letting all the cousins get reacquainted. Seeing each other once a year, it's amazing how much all the kids change!!! Thanks, Tina, for a great couple days - we can't wait until you're living closer again!

7/5/09 - Two months old
Alex turned 2 months old today - in some ways I can't believe it's already been 2 months, and at the same time, it's hard to remember our world without him. So far, still no good chunks of sleep, so it's been a somewhat long two months...
Fortunately for Alex (but not so for Laura), eliminating dairy has made a big difference for his little tummy. He's still having some reflux and is being put on Zantac, but there's been a noticable improvement. We're hoping for some more sleep here soon...he's still getting up every 2 1/2 to 3 hours during the night, so we're very tired.
At 6 weeks, Alex started smiling, which we're LOVING! And Nathan is doing so well with Alex - he loves to give him hugs and kisses :-) Here are pictures of Alex at 2 months:
